Project Scope: A hosted secure database driven extranet with Email, CMS and SMS functionality

Peverel OM are leading providers of property related services across the UK. The company required an extranet system to be developed for their property owners, tenants and developers. The objective to allow such business partners access to information relevant to their properties and a range of personalised and related information.
The solution was provided by Rocktime in the form of a secure database driven extranet with Email and SMS functionality. The extranet is managed by Peverel OM administrators utilising Rocktime's Content Management System Logic CMS. The extranet offers access to personalised property information for two distinct categories comprising property owners/ tenants and services for developers.
Rocktime worked closely with Peverel OM to specify and develop a user friendly and comprehensive database driven extranet. Accessible via the company's main website, Rocktime created a flash demo movie to help guide and familiarise new users to the features and functions of the extranet. A secure login directs users to one of two category areas comprising property owners/ tenants or developers, they are then presented with a welcome message and either their property or portfolio information.
A user's unique account information is displayed after login with the option for users to update profile details and opt in/out for email and SMS news alerts relating to their property matters. The system lets users track accounts, make online payments, search for information via an online help icon and be kept informed of maintenance issues and general updates. Users can also download and print PDF's relating to property documentation, such available documents being added to and updated by Peverel administrators. Users are also able to communicate with the administrators via the extranet and this includes providing feedback.
Rocktime's Logic CMS (content management system for web publishing) allows Peverel OM administrators to easily update and grow the extranet 'site' content and send email and SMS text alerts to users with important, timely information relating to their properties. The ongoing development of this project has focused on improving the Peverel OM client experience and Rocktime have carefully considered site usability at all project stages. An example of this is prior to the launch of the extranet a selected group of Peverel clients were provided with user access to not only test the extranet system but also provide user feedback and response.
To ensure that the extranet was suitable for viewing and use by clients utilising a wide variety of monitors it was designed for an industry standard browser size. Importantly the extranet is coded to provide level A conformance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
The extranet also includes an application that automatically converts any document added into a PDF format. In addition further phased development has comprised the integration of the banking facility on the extranet with Peverel OM's Head Office accounts system.
