Project Overview
DHL implement SOLO in emerging markets.
DHL are one of the global leaders in logistics and freight forwarding. Following
an ambitious financial systems implementation their project team was faced with
the task of training support staff across the world.
SOLO developed for Rocktime's E-learning business ‘Learning Foundry’
has provided DHL with the ability to train and test these staff to ensure they are
competent in providing local support to around 800 users in around 70 countries.
Project Features/ Services Provided
SOLO (Storage Of Learning Objects) is a browser based application designed to deliver
interactive training to staff spread across different locations and large single-site
organisations.
SOLO provides trainers with a collaborative environment where they can prepare and
proof training material, user-driven self-tests and comprehensive assessments.
SOLO delivers all training through a web-based interface that requires no plugins
or additional software.
SOLO is a hosted solution so there are no integration requirements to their existing
I.T. infrastructure.
SOLO interactive training is purchased on a renewable license basis meaning that
they can stop using it when the training requirement has been fulfilled.
SOLO implementations have an extremely short lead-time meaning that they can get
up and running within days and commence developing their training material.
The training material can consist of images, text, product demonstrations, video,
audio, and fully interactive, user-driven product simulations.
The assessments added can take the form of simple self tests so users can check
their progress while working through to fully fledged module assessments with variable
pass marks recorded against individual trainees.
Results
Alex McCreath, MD of learning foundry says "DHL were in the position where
they had gone live with their new financial system but the consistency of support
across the different emerging market regions ranged from excellent to patchy".
"SOLO gives DHL the ability to ensure that everyone supporting the system has
a base-line level of skill and knowledge that can be kept up to date with enhancements
and revisions to the core training material".
DHL continue to use the SOLO application globally.
