Edinburgh Council to use Rocktime's Volunteer Booking Platform

The Edinburgh Booking Platform is aimed to support some 100 service users with personal challenges with the opportunity to book appointments with available volunteers that are registered with the system.

The platform's main function is to enable service users to register themselves and create user profiles that allow them to securely share sensitive details on their particular circumstances which will allow for the selection/ matching process when looking to book a volunteer(s) up to 12 months in advance. Volunteers are equally able to register and manage their profile and available dates whilst also managing the cancellation and rescheduling of bookings.

Rocktime's powerful SaaS Booking Platform is hosted in the Cloud offering local authorities the means to support service delivery, service management, monitoring and evaluation of parks, sports and volunteer related facilities and supporting staff.

The system includes: 

  • A database that will provide a central data repository for service reporting and analysis.
  • A method for service users to self-refer onto schemes and courses provided by the council.
  • Ability to book service users at various locations and at various times. 
  • Ability to reschedule sessions and attendees. Ideally this would be supported through self-service.
  • The facility to manage payments for service, classes/sessions, other by allowing payment online, by interfacing with the council’s online payments system
  • Including bulk payments and pre-payments.
  • Ability to record key registration information, demographics and physical assessment information in the system.
  • Ability to generate class/session registers automatically from the system, including allocation of venue, staff and service users. This should include ability to register attendance and add to registers at point of delivery.
  • Ability to conduct customer surveys, record details and report
  • Ability to conduct automated and bulk email and SMS campaigns/communications.
  • A mobile interface that will enable instructors and staff in the field to interact with the system in real time. This will ideally include the ability for offline use of class/session registers.
  • Standards based Web services that will allow the councils online services to interface with the provided system
The cloud software is powered by the latest Microsoft .NET  / SQL Database technologies and is easy to use from a web browser dashboard providing a reassuring, intuitive user interface similar to those used in Microsoft applications such as Word.
