Camden Schools Led Partnership

Challenge

The London Borough of Camden offers a range of services on a ‘traded’ basis to Camden schools (Primary, Secondary and Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools), this includes diverse services such as Schools ICT, Library services, Cleaning, Finance and many others.  With such a vastly different service delivery model for each service, transforming the business in to an online service was a complex brief. The council traditionally offered these services on an individual basis via electronic brochure with specific packages.

Solution

Rocktime worked with both school and council stakeholders to co-design a new consolidated web based solution based on its Open Standards Microsoft .net architecture that enables the Borough of Camden to offer an online one-stop shop for schools to buy into Camden’s range of twenty plus different traded services, as well as commissioned work and be able track the progress of existing work packages.

The solution features both a public facing marketing element as well as individual schools secure login areas to communicate and exchange information with the local authority. The system also integrates with London Grid for Learning for easy authentication of users.

At the heart of the project is the aim to:

• Identifying opportunities to develop a more coherent and sustainable traded offering to schools
  Explore how traded services to schools can best market services both within Camden and (in some circumstances) to schools and agencies outside of Camden

• Identify improvements in efficiency in relation to the overall co-ordination of Camden’s traded offer and in the transactional interface with schools.
